Chris Price is a Professor of Stroke and Applied Health Research at Newcastle University.
As a clinical researcher, Chris works with national and international academic and industry collaborators to evaluate and implement interventions which improve patient access to emergency stroke treatments.
Newcastle University Stroke Research Group and the MIC collaborate on studies funded by the Medical Research Council and Innovate UK to clinically evaluate technologies for diagnosing suspected stroke and their potential use in an ambulance environment.
Chris also attends our weekly operations meeting and informs our project selection process for new in vitro diagnostics. He helps to examine whether the enquiry addresses an unmet clinical need and whether the proposed project is within the MIC’s remit.
Chris is also the Deputy Director of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) for the North East and North Cumbria. Through this role Chris provides links to other NIHR infrastructure and advice on research implementation.
