Early stakeholder engagement
We have expertise in early stakeholder engagement. From this research we generate a list of potential “use cases” for the new diagnostic and a list of changes to clinical decision-making if the test was used.
What is a use case?
We will define it here as a description of the way that an end-user wants to use a diagnostic test. So for example a “use case” for a test for SARS-CoV-2 could be to separate patients into different areas of a hospital when they are admitted or for screening of people in the community who do not have symptoms.
Why is this work important?
This work pinpoints any factors that will enable or prevent the diagnostic from being adopted and widely used. The work also shapes the design of health economic and clinical studies by identifying the outcomes that should be measured for highlighting the potential benefits of the new diagnostic. Identifying the optimal use case also helps us find the patient population that will benefit from the diagnostic and should be examined in the clinical study.
What we do
We will:
- Design, conduct and analyse semi-structured interviews with experts in the disease area.
- Produce a report summarising the findings.
