Luke Vale is a Professor of Health Economics at Newcastle University. He has an international reputation built on over 25 years of health economics experience. He is author on nearly 400 peer reviewed publications and has helped secure well over £100M external funding.
Luke provides health economics expertise at the MIC’s fortnightly management meetings. He mentors our methodologists and established a close collaboration with the MIC during our time as the Diagnostic Evidence Co-operative Newcastle. Our close collaboration with the Newcastle Health Economics Group led by Luke has led to seven publications since 2017.
Luke holds several NIHR funded roles. These include his role as co-ordinating editor of the Cochrane Incontinence Review Group; Director or Newcastle Technology Assessment Review Centre; Lead Enabling Methodologies Theme Applied Research Collaboration for North East and North Cumbria; Lead Equitable and Efficient Health Systems, School for Public Health Research, Economics Lead Behavioural Science Policy Research Unit.
