Stephen represents the Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) at our fortnightly management meetings. The AHSN NENC is a key supporter of the Newcastle MIC.  This partnership began during our origins as the Diagnostic Evidence Co-operative Newcastle.

Stephen is the business manager at the AHSN NENC. He is responsible for supporting companies wanting to access the NHS. Before joining the AHSN NENC, Stephen worked in the NHS as a Commercial Manager for Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with responsibility for business development activities involving medical technologies and diagnostics, and provided dedicated support to the NIHR Newcastle MIC. There he helped to establish and launch Diagnostics North East, a partnership between the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle University and the AHSN NENC to deliver the various resources that map to the development, research and innovation of diagnostic technologies and available to both academic and commercial partners.
