Lisa Shaw is a physician by background and now a researcher based with the Stroke Research Group at Newcastle University. She has expertise in the design, management and analysis of clinical studies. The Stroke Research Group is currently collaborating with the MIC on studies to evaluate point of care diagnostics for stroke funded by the Medical Research Council and Innovate UK.
Lisa attends MIC weekly operations meetings which review enquires received by the MIC for input into development and evaluation of new diagnostics. She helps to examine whether a new enquiry addresses an unmet clinical need and whether the proposed project is within the MIC’s remit. Lisa has also contributed to MIC workshops and webinar series covering evidence development for diagnostic tests. She provides a session about undertaking clinical studies.
