Multiverse Lab Community Tour

NIHR Newcastle In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative is delighted to be part of a collaboration that has commissioned an interactive installation for the public.

We are inviting people living in the North East and Cumbria to visit a new interactive pop-up installation called Multiverse Lab.

The installation will tour outdoor venues from 17 – 25 July 2021. Multiverse Lab is free, fully accessible, and suitable for all ages. Venues include the Great North Museum in Newcastle, Everyone Active in Hetton, Trinity Square in Gateshead and Carlisle Old Town Hall.

Created by Newcastle-based Unfolding Theatre the installation will encourage visitors to record a 40 second message and answer the following question:

“What is the health and social care breakthrough you hope to see in your lifetime?”

Before contributing to the “Lab of Many Voices”, guests will learn about the history of health and social care discoveries in the region. This includes cutting-edge research conducted by ourselves and our collaborators. Visitors can also listen to the recordings of other people who have answered this all important question.

The messages will be shared with researchers and decision-makers, including ourselves, to shape future research in the region.

Whilst Multiverse Lab is a playful and fun installation, it also highlights the importance of health and social care research on our everyday lives.
