Great North Run 2021
This September Dr Joy Allen is raising money for Children’s Cancer North, a charity dedicated to making life better for children with cancer.
The 12 September 2021 will mark the 40th Great North Run, the largest half-marathon in the world. This iconic run is famous for its warm North East welcome and the millions raised for good causes.
Dr Joy Allen, one of our senior methodologists, will join over 50,000 determined and dedicated runners at Great North Run 2021. She aims to raise funding for the Children’s Cancer North charity.
Children’s Cancer North is dedicated to making life better for children with cancer across the North East and Cumbria. Around 100 children from across the region are newly diagnosed with cancer every year. They come to the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle for their treatment. Children’s Cancer North aims to improve their quality of life through transforming the environment and play experience on the wards. They also provide access to potentially life-saving clinical trials and fund revolutionary research to find more effective treatments.
