Budget impact analysis
What is budget impact analysis?
This type of study measures the potential impact of purchasing the new diagnostic on the budget of the local or national healthcare provider. This can help the decision-makers offset increased expenditure in one budget silo against greater savings in another budget silo.
When should budget impact analysis be done?
For this type of analysis we require the developers to have a CE marked product and data to demonstrate the diagnostic accuracy of the test.
What we do
We perform budget impact analysis of the developer’s diagnostic. This work requires knowledge of the care pathways and a systematic literature review to collect the values for the analysis. We will also perform sensitivity analysis to characterise decision uncertainty.
We will:
- Develop the decision problem and health economics analysis plan
- Collect values to use in the analyses
- Analyse and communicate the results and create an adaptable tool for decision-makers
