Early health economic modelling
At an early stage we can perform early economic modelling of the developer’s diagnostic and compare it with current practice.
Why is this work important?
This work helps to place the diagnostic in the current care pathway and identify the patient populations that would benefit the most from the new diagnostic. Early economic modelling can also help to focus future product and evidence development and inform pricing strategies. The mathematical model we produce can also form the basis for full economic studies increasing the likelihood of future cost-effectiveness.
When should early health economic studies be done?
For this type of analysis we require the developers to have produced a prototype of the test and data to demonstrate the performance of the test in the laboratory. This work package is also dependent on outputs from our care pathway analysis work.
What we do
We will:
- Place the care pathway for the diagnostic into a mathematical model
- Produce a summary report exploring the diagnostic’s potential for future cost-effectiveness
- Provide recommendations for future evidence development
